1953 Buick Special. Purchased in Kansas as a complete all original car that had been left to the elements for about 20 years. As a hobby I restored this cars body, paint, upholstry, headliner, and drive train utilizing self-taught skills. The restoration took over 3 years of spare time work. The result is a nice driving car that has won two trophies, so far, in local car shows...one second place in its class and one peoples choice award.
1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk. 352 cu.in Packard V8 producing 275 HP., 3.07 Twin Traction rear end.Bought the car in 1986, and decided to try and restore it myself. Took two years of adult ed in autobody and welding, and went at it. Everything other than upholstry and engine rebuild was done in our home garage. I probably spent as much in tools as I did on the car.
