1967 Taz Van
The Taz Van is a 1967 G10. I bought it in Colorado in 1983 and drove it back to Illinois. It had a 289 with a C4 Trans. I put a 400 small block with a turbo 400 Trans the winter of 1983 -84. I ran that drive train with a few minor repairs "2 tranny's 5 rear ends, & a couple of carbs". This is the 4th paint job. The Current Paint job was done by Craig Weidner from Fond du Lac, WI. In the winter of 2006 - 2007 I installed the current 406 SB. It is a 400 small block 30 over with Crower cam 502 lift, 230 duration, 202 valves in ported heads, Edelbrock Dual Quad manifold, Twin Carter 550 AFB Carburetor’s, Hooker block hugger headers, 3in exhaust with Dynomax mufflers, 3in cutouts, 3000 Stall converter, 700 R4 trans with shift kit +, B&M Mega shifter, 373 12 bolt possie, Disc Brakes, P245 X60 (front) & P295X50 (rear) mounted on Bruiser mags.
I've driven it to California, Colorado, North/South Dakota, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, N Carolina Indiana, and Ohio some a lot more than others. I average ~ 15000,00 miles a year driving it to van-in's. I’ve done most of the work on it myself, (with a lot of help from friends) I Brought my first early in 1974 and went to my first Vannin in 1975 “Van Fair North with ~5000 vans” What an opening to vannin’s. I am currently the President of Hy~Rollin Vans and a member of C.I.T.A., Vintage Chevy Van Club, HOVAC, WVC, Hard Core Vanners Thanx for reading!!
