When I first got my hands on the kit I set out to make a bench out of a slab of white oak and some read oak boards that I had squirreled away. It took a bit of work to get the tenon cutter set such that the tenon fit tightly in the 2" hole. (Good thing a uses some scrap first) I was pleased with the results. I think that the tools are better suited for softer woods...but they did handle the well seasoned red-oak and white-oak.
I can't wait to try my next project, I do think I'll use some softer species. Submitted by Will27 from Southern, IL
