Homemade Log Splitter
Used this valve on a homemade logsplitter I made for my son. It is powered from the hydraulic system of our little loader/backhoe tractor. It was very easy to install, and works great! Also used a Haldex pump and Lovejoy coupling from Northern, on the tractor, to replace the old pto pump with live hydraulics! Submitted by dbg153 from Macomb, IL

Auto return detent valve
With some donated parts and a lot of help from the Northern tool catalog, this 3 x 24 tie rod cylinder(#992010) along with their 11 GPH 2 stage hydro. pump(#1012), splitter detent valve(#2020), 20 GPH return filter(#4020), and pump couplers this log splitter rocks! The two stage pump and ram combo. are very fast and very powerful! The auto return on the detent valve is also very handy and makes splitting fast and easy
